My photography journey started when my son was born and I got my first "big girl" camera. In 2011, I took the plunge and launched my photography business. For years, I juggled being a part-time family photographer and a full-time elementary school educator. After 21 years in the classroom, I realized it was time to focus on my growing photography business. As of June 2024, I'm officially living my dream as a full-time photographer!

I currently photograph seniors, families and brands. I love natural light and golden light is my jam. However, lately I’ve been learning so much about OCF (something I never thought I would use). But I am a true believer in life long learning and I’m always up for something new. 

Although I have not had any formal training as a photographer, I've invested in a ton of photography workshops, photography conferences, and self paced learning courses. I’ve even hired coaches on a couple of occasions for one on one support. Investing in my craft has helped me grow as a photographer and business owner, and gotten me to where I am today!

This year I am most excited about bringing my two passions together… teaching and photography. It has been a big dream of mine to one day teach a photography course… and it’s finally happening!

I started my photography business in 2017, and my journey may sound familiar to some of you... I picked up my camera to capture the lives of my newborn twins, and I never set it back down. Prior to that, I worked as a high school Biology teacher, and then in the medical field as a trauma surgery PA (and boy, do I have some wild stories to tell from those years!)

But the stories that I really wanted to tell were those that were unfolding in front of my camera every time I shot a session.  Photography quickly became my creative outlet, a way to serve others with beautiful, meaningful images, and it provided the flexibility I needed to be home with my kids. It was the perfect combination of passion and purpose that has helped me build a life I truly love.

I currently photograph families, seniors, and brands... and I'm all about giving my clients the best possible experience. 

It hasn't all been smooth sailing though... there is definitely a learning curve when it comes to being able to consistently produce professional quality images. But it is totally possible, and you don't have to figure it all out on your own! I love teaching and connecting with others, and I would love to help you in your own photography journey!
